October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we at Just The Dip want to be apart of the conversation. This includes us baking boob cookies and sharing the recipe with you. But before we do that, let's get serious for one second. As women, we already have a lot on our plates. From career stress, relationship woes, menstrual cramps, to worrying about our safety inside and outside of our own homes. It's a lot to handle on a day-to-day basis, and that's why sometimes our health takes a backseat in the grand scheme of things. It's also scary. It's something we wish and pray never effects us or anyone we know. So sometimes we try to not even think about it. But we need to.

We aren't going to lecture or list statistics but we do want to encourage everyone to get to know their boobs. Seriously. Look and touch them on the regular. Have your partner look and touch them as well. The more hands on deck the better! Better yet, make it apart of your routine. After you shower: towel off, lotion up, rub your boobs, apply makeup, and go about your business. And if you detect any lumps or abnormalities, please see your health care partitioner as soon as you can. Not every lump or change is cancer but it is better to be safe.

For more information, resources and how to get involved, check out Rethink Breast Cancer. We just love you guys, okay?

Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a baking sheet.
  2. Melt the butter. Cream together with the sugar, egg and vanilla in a large bowl using a whisk or electric mixer.
  3. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in another bowl. Mix well.
  4. Slowly add the dry mix to the wet mix, stirring as you go. Once the dough is fully incorporated, roll it into a log and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill in the fridge for an hour, or as long as time permits.
  5. Remove from the fridge, and form the dough into roughly two-inch balls. Place on the baking sheet, and flatten slightly with your fingers or a fork.
  6. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, until just beginning to brown on the bottom.
  7. Remove, let cool and then use a combination of icing and candies to decorate your 'boobies'!
